Morgan Wallen donates $140,000 to local Gibbs Youth Sports charity
In advance of Morgan Wallen’s return to his hometown to perform tonight (September 20) and Sunday (September 22) at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville’s Neyland Stadium, the Morgan Wallen Foundation has donated $140,000 to GYS Youth Sports. During a press conference at Neyland Stadium, MWF Executive Director Kathleen Flaherty and MWF Program Director and Warren’s mother, Leslie Warren, presented the check for the renovation of Ruritan Park to GYS Chairman Nate Stachy and Baseball Commissioner William Lynam.
“As a baseball mom, it’s so special to me to be able to give back to the community that my son gave us so much and the community in which he played sports,” Leslie says. “Nate sent an application to our foundation asking for any help he could get, and that’s all he asked for. I sometimes walk through Gibbs Youth Sports Ruritan Park and see how rundown the park is, so we started talking about what we could do to make it a better park and a special place that our kids could be proud to go to.”
