‘Hot Priest’ makes ‘Jeopardy’ a heavenly treat for gay Twitter
“Jeopardy” became a cult experience for fans of the long-running game show, with Catholic clergy viewers nicknamed “Hot Priests.”
The New York Post quoted the 29-year-old priest as saying: Steve Jakubowski’s appearance on September 26th changed the game show forever.
“Jakubowski, who lives in Austin, Texas, competed against teacher Jen Feldman and one-day champion Chris Linsday,” the newspaper detailed. “Ultimately, Feldman was crowned the winner of the night, which means Jakubowski fans will have to head to the stands if they want to see and hear more of him.”
Judging by the comments floating around on Twitter (now known as X), some may actually be tempted to make the pilgrimage to worship.
Newsweek reported that fans on social media “fainted during the episode, with one saying, ‘Is this Jeopardy contestant a priest? I’m about to convert.'” Another added: “Is there a hot-blooded priest in danger right now?” ? ? ? A third fan admitted: “I’m an atheist but would definitely consider becoming Catholic for Father Steve…. #dangerous.”
There may even be a TV afterlife for Hot Priest, if viewers want it, Newsweek noted. “The Michigan native made such a shocking impression on viewers that they demanded his return, writing, “@Jeopardy quickly brings Father Steve back for ‘Second Chance.’ I want you to take me back.”
Jakubowski wasn’t the only hot priest that caught the attention of Priest viewers. Actor Andrew Scott was awarded the prestigious title for his role in Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s comedy Fleabag.
The excited priest didn’t seem to mind when a few more parishioners showed up to see him in vestments.
“I hope this creates a positive impression on my community and my church,” the newspaper quoted the priest as saying. Jakubowski’s words. “In Austin, where I live, the show airs at 3:30 p.m., so I held a viewing party with the students and their parents at the parish school. I was so excited to share that with the parish. It’s fun.”
