Leave it to Harrison Ford to keep Marvel secrets.
The “Indiana Jones” star, who will be playing the role of Thunderbolt Ross/Red Hulk in the upcoming “Captain America: Brave New World,” admitted after stopping by Entertainment Weekly’s Comic-Con 2024 studio on Saturday night that he just pretended not to know who Red Hulk was.
When asked if he actually didn’t know who the Red Hulk was, along with co-stars Anthony Mackie (Sam Wilson/Captain America), Giancarlo Esposito (Sidewinder, King of the Serpent Society), Danny Ramirez (Joaquin Torres/Falcon) and Tim Blake Nelson (The Leader), Ford sarcastically replied, “No, thank you. I’m that stupid.”

“Yeah, I knew about it, and I thought it was a great thing to keep secret,” he continued. “Unfortunately, the secret’s out. But I don’t know what the Red Hulk is going to do, and that’s very interesting to me.”
Ford said he was attracted to the project because of the opportunity to work with Mackie and co. and “create scenes that are complex and dramatic and humorous,” adding, “They’re all really good at it. I had a blast. I saw other actors in the Marvel Universe, really good, well-respected actors, having so much fun, and I said, ‘I want to play a role like that,’ and that’s what happened.”
Ford previously made headlines when a Comicbook.com reporter asked him about his role in the film, asking, “What is Red Hulk?”
Due for release on Valentine’s Day 2025, Brave New World will see Mackie replace Chris Evans as Captain America and follow him as he rebuilds the Avengers to battle an international threat.
