The pistol used in a terrifying YouTube stunt gone wrong that led to the death of a 22-year-old man on Monday is one of the most powerful handguns on the market.
Police said 22-year-old Pedro Ruiz held a book to his chest and convinced his girlfriend, Monalisa Perez, to fire the gun from a foot away.
Lewis thought the book would stop the bullet, but it went straight through and killed him.
The gun in question was a .50 caliber Desert Eagle, the power of which was made famous in the film “Snatch” starring Brad Pitt.

Experts call the gun a “hand-held cannon.”
Inside Edition visited Guns for Hire, a shooting range in Midland Park, New Jersey, to uncover just how powerful the weapons in question are.
During the demonstration, two bullets came out from opposite ends of the book, destroying the giant dictionary.
This gun is considered to be the most powerful handgun money can buy.
Police said Lewis and his 19-year-old boyfriend staged the act at their Minnesota home to gain more viewers for their YouTube channel.
