While celebrating the release of his new film “Twisters,” Glen Powell paid tribute to the “legends” of actors who came before him.
On Friday, the “Hitman” star posted to X a photo of himself with the late actor Bill Paxton, who starred in the 1996 film “Twister.”
“Today, as I release Twister to the world, I just wanted to look up and pay tribute to a legend named Bill Paxton,” Powell wrote in the caption, “a great friend of mine who found poetry in the natural world.”
“It’s impossible to follow in his footsteps, but this life is about chasing great players,” he added.
Powell and Paxton co-starred in the 2013 film “Red Wing,” which also starred the late Luke Perry.
Paxton died in 2017 at the age of 61 after complications during surgery. He was best known for his starring role in “Twister” opposite Helen Hunt, as well as appearing in James Cameron’s films “Titanic” and “Alien.”
Powell also had some fun with his “Twisters” co-stars Daisy Edgar-Jones and Anthony Ramos on Friday night, when they took to the stage with Luke Combs at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey and “shotgunned” a few beers.
“Twisters” is now in theaters.
