WATCH: Mother shares harrowing video of 18-year-old daughter having ‘drugs put in her drink’
An 18-year-old girl who suffered a seizure after her drink was allegedly laced with drugs at a nightclub has spoken out about the “horrifying” incident.
Millie Taplin, who works as a carer, believes she was drugged by a man at Moo Moose nightclub in Southend, Essex, on Saturday.
Mum Claire, 48, released the harrowing footage of her daughter in hospital as a warning to other women.
Millie, who spent a night in hospital recovering, said: “There was a guy there who was with a group of people I know. I don’t know if it was him, but [the drink he gave me] It was the only drink I had.
“We were all getting on really well, I had a few sips of my drink and went into the smoking area.
“I came home and felt like I had too much to drink, and then I went out and felt sick.”

Millie soon lost the ability to talk or walk, and eventually lost control of her arms and legs.
Around midnight, Millie’s panicked friends called her sister Sadie, 28, who came to collect her and rushed her to the emergency room.
Millie’s mother was with her in hospital and in footage showing her ordeal she can be seen comforting her distressed daughter.
Millie added: “I knew everything that was going on and I could reply to people in my head but I couldn’t say it out loud.”
“It was really scary. My mind was there but my body wasn’t. I’d never felt that way before.”
“The doctors were really supportive and tried to calm me down. When I got to the hospital I was in a really bad state. I was really scared.”
“I never want to go through that again. It was a horrible experience.”
Millie suffered seizures for around two hours, with doctors giving her orange juice as they monitored her recovery.
Hospital staff didn’t do a blood test, but told Claire they suspected Millie’s drink had been laced with two unknown drugs.
Millie was finally released from Southend Hospital at about 3.30am on Sunday but said she was hesitant to return to the club after the traumatic experience.
She said: “I don’t think I’ll be going out much anymore. I’ll take all the precautions I can.”
“No matter how well you think you know someone, you should never accept a drink or anything else from them.”
Claire added: “I’d never seen anything like this before. Millie knew what was going on but couldn’t speak.”
“It was horrifying. She looked possessed.”

Millie, who works as a carer, went to the club with four female friends and it was her first time going to a nightclub since turning 18 last November.
Essex Police confirmed they were investigating the incident.
A spokesman for Mo Mo’s nightclub said: “We ask all customers to be present when ordering drinks and not to leave drinks unattended.”
“The drink which was allegedly laced with drugs was believed to have been received from someone known to the female victim. It was not reported to us at the time but we are assisting police who are working on this matter.”
