The recent announcement of an Oasis reunion tour has triggered waves of nostalgia and excitement among fans around the world, including in the UAE, as the Gallagher brothers will be taking to the stage together for the first time since 2009, after a 15-year feud.
As the iconic Britpop band prepares to take to the stage in the Welsh capital on July 4, 2025, when their tour begins, local fans are sharing their thoughts on what the moment really means to them.
Sharon Bannerton, a public relations and communications professional from Ireland, said she was immediately excited when she heard the news, adding: “As an Oasis fan, this reunion is really special. I can hardly believe how long it’s been since the Gallagher brothers last shared stage together.”
“Over the years we’ve watched them go through a lot both publicly and personally, and now seeing them reunite after so many years gives us hope that time can truly heal old wounds. This tour isn’t just about the music, it’s about their journey and I’m thrilled to be able to witness it,” said the Irish expat, who is moving to the UAE in 2023.
For many, it’s unimaginable that Oasis will ever play in the UAE. “It’s amazing that Oasis is playing in the UAE,” Sharon added. “It’s not just the music, it’s the energy they bring. Seeing them live here will be an unforgettable experience.”
Radio presenter Lewis Denham, who moved to the UAE from the UK in 2002, agreed: “It’s incredible! Finally, we get to celebrate something that those of us born in the ’90s have been waiting for for nearly 20 years. Just knowing that something so tailored for us as ’90s-borns is coming back into the music scene is incredible.”
Louis’ personal connection to Oasis runs deep, rooted in memories of his father: “Every time I hear them I’m reminded of learning the basic chords to ‘Wonderwall’ on guitar with my dad. It’s a form of nostalgia that not many bands can offer,” he said.
The excitement doesn’t just stop at memories, with Louis eager for a possible concert in the UAE: “One thing we all know and love about the UAE is that they know how to put on the perfect concert, and I can’t think of a better place for an Oasis reunion.”
As she reminisced about her favorite memories of the band’s music, Sharon also spoke fondly of the power of their lyrics: “Whether it was singing ‘Wonderwall’ with my friends or listening to ‘Don’t Look Back in Anger’ when I was feeling down, there was always a raw, rebellious energy in their songs. Even now, when I hear their music I’m reminded of those moments of youthful, carefree rebellion.”
Meanwhile, Mohamed Khalifa, who works with Image Nation in Abu Dhabi, was initially skeptical about the reunion but was ultimately pleased with the band’s reconciliation: “Honestly, I was sceptical at first but I’m glad they put their issues aside,” he said, recalling discovering Oasis on the TV show The OC in 2004, highlighting the band’s ability to resonate with audiences across generations and cultures.

Reda Rubaie, a 27-year-old fan from the UK, reflected on the communal experience of listening to Oasis: “Growing up in the north of England, Oasis was a band you often saw played in pubs, bars and nightclubs. Their music is associated with good times spent with close friends,” he added.
Like many others, Reda would love to see them perform in the UAE. “I think if they play in Dubai or Abu Dhabi there will be enough people who appreciate their music and it will create a great atmosphere. If they come to the UAE I will definitely go, and if not I will still plan a trip to the UK to see them on stage at least once.”
