Juno Award winner Blue Moon Markie writes and performs original songs influenced by everything from swing, jump, and groove. AW Cardinal (vocals/guitar) and Jasmine Collette, aka Badlands Jas (vocals/bass/drums), have a wide range of audiences including jazz clubs, Lindy Hop dance halls, folk venues, blues hangouts, hospitals, prisons, markets, and motorcycles. I’ve played in front of. joints, dive bars, famous festival stages and more.
The Blue Moon Marquee comes to the Churchill Arts Center’s Berkley Theater (151 East Park Street) in Fallon on Sunday, October 6th. The box office, art bar, and gallery open at 6 p.m., with performances starting at 7 p.m.

Colette not only conducts an upright bass, but also uses a custom-built foot drum kit to beat the rhythm with her feet and sings in her signature honey-soaked tones. Cardinal’s distinctive, soulful vocals soar like a bull, and his guitar crackles with the swinging energy of a jazz-inspired blues.
Nine years of grueling touring across Europe and North America resulted in this acclaimed duo’s unique energy and style. Their sound, which explores blues, jazz, jump jive, folk, country, swing, and indigenous soul with an authentic spirit, is never limited to one category. A stomping swagger through the wilderness, reminiscent of a blend of Howlin’ Wolf tangoing with Django, Ernest Tubb shooting firecrackers with Cab Calloway, and Memphis Minnie throwing dice with Screamin’ Jay Hawkins.
Their talent is to bring all these elements together seamlessly. They collect their roots and weave them smoothly with lyrics that often touch on the underbelly of society, weaving elements of indigenous stories and poetic rhythms.
