The 96th annual North Texas Fair & Rodeo runs in Denton through Sunday, Aug. 25. Gates and the carnival open most days at 5:30 p.m.
The North Texas Fair & Rodeo first took place in 1928 and has been an integral part of the North Texas landscape ever since. The fair combines our rural roots with contemporary country music and, of course, the rodeo and midway. Made possible by 700 volunteers throughout the fair’s schedule, the fair has something for everyone.
Not only do fair-goers enjoy ample entertainment, but a visit to the fair also creates a lasting economic impact on the local community. In the past, the two-week festival has generated $12 million in economic impact. Here are some examples of how those funds have been allocated:
$34,000 was made available for scholarships for students pursuing higher education. $725,000 was restored to community activities.
