Destroy Lonely should be in album mode. He’s set to release a new album on August 30th. But the rapper is in fight mode. On August 22nd, he was involved in an altercation with multiple rappers and decided to take his issues public, slamming both Lookie and Cancan on Twitter. To be fair to Destroy Lonely, the altercation was instigated by his peers. Lookie made some bold accusations about Lonely, so it’s hard to find fault with his response. Cancan jumped on the Lookie train and both suffered as a result.
Let’s start with Lucky’s accusations. The rapper went on Instagram Live and started rambling on about Destroy Lonely’s personal life. Despite claiming he didn’t want any trouble, he started making reckless remarks about Lonely’s girlfriend. “She just put my name out there,” Lucky claimed. “I don’t even have sex with her. I don’t even bother her. And your new girlfriend? Ask her about Lucky.” The rapper tried to soften the bold allegations by asserting he doesn’t want to get into a feud with another rapper over a girl. That said, he slammed her again, alluding to Destroy Lonely’s record deal. Lucky said it’s better to be a billionaire than to be signed to a billionaire, which many took as a reference to Lonely being signed to Playboi Carti.
Destroy Lonely claims he’s “not scared” of Lucky
Destroy Lonely must have had some feelings about Lucky’s comments. He took to Twitter shortly after the Instagram story went viral to make it clear that he wasn’t joking. “Y’all never see me without a dress,” Lonely wrote. “And y’all never scare me.” Lucky and Destroy Lonely’s relationship got even more serious when Cancan got involved. The rapper decided to post Lucky’s Instagram story. Lonely, naturally, wasn’t happy about it. He quoted Cancan’s tweet and made it clear that he has an issue with Cancan as well. “Don’t laugh, nigga wu*e,” he replied. Cancan eventually deleted the tweet.
Apparently this isn’t the first time Lucky has dissed Destroy Lonely. Fans have long believed the rapper dissed Lonely in the song “OUTRO” from his 2024 album Gemini. “I gave you the treasure your dad gave me, I hope you don’t notice but it’s got a tag on it,” Lucky raps. “He’s richer than me, that’s a fact, he’s probably mad cause I ran her over first, you make your town look bad, I ran a hooker over with my truck.” Lonely’s father is rapper I-20, and fans thought Lucky was disrespecting Lonely’s accomplishments as an artist. There’s definitely more drama to come.
