Barcelona sporting director Deco is targeting the Manchester United winger as a potential signing, according to SPORT’s Luis Miguel Sanz.
However, the problem is Sancho’s high wages, which is a major obstacle for Barcelona.
Sancho’s future at Manchester United remains unclear, but he could play a key role in the transfer market as the end of the transfer window approaches.
Manchester United seem unsure about him, despite his versatility, and as a result, they are willing to sell him but have set a minimum asking price of €40 million.
I’m interested in Sancho
As of now, no clubs have made a formal offer for Sancho, and there is speculation that some teams are waiting to see if he could move out on loan, a scenario that could work in their favour.

Deco, meanwhile, is monitoring the situation closely and is aware the England international could be an attractive option for the club, especially if a loan move becomes feasible.
However, the biggest obstacle is Sancho’s hefty wage bill, which Barcelona would have to cover in full if they were to sign him. Despite their financial difficulties, the Catalan club are still exploring the possibility of signing the versatile Englishman.
Manchester United’s difficult times
Sancho’s playing time at Old Trafford has been limited, throwing his future at the club into doubt, while Barcelona’s interest in him comes at a time when his future at Manchester United is looking uncertain.
His last appearance was in the Community Shield final against Manchester City on 10 August, coming on as a substitute for Marcus Rashford in the 83rd minute.
He wasn’t even in the squad for the first Premier League game of the 2024-25 season, against Fulham.
While signing Sancho could be a strategic move for Barcelona, especially if they can negotiate favourable terms, the financial implications of his wages remain a major hurdle.
