Orquesta SalSoul Del Mad will be performing at this year’s Dane Dances.
The Dane Dance, one of Madison’s most diverse, family-friendly summer events, kicks off its 25th season on Friday, Aug. 2, and will take place five Fridays in August on the rooftop of the Monona Terrace Community & Convention Center.
DJ Francis Medrano will entertain the crowd each week at 5:30pm, and attendees will receive free dance lessons. Food and drinks will be available from a variety of vendors.

Week 1: Dane Dances kicks off its 25th season with a Nepali dance from the Nepali American Friendship Association of Madison on August 2, followed by two of the Midwest’s best and most diverse dance bands from the Milwaukee and Chicagoland areas. Montage will liven up the night with energetic, smooth dance jams at 6 pm, followed by funk/R&B band Slave at 8 pm. Week 2: Dane Dances will host a special 25th anniversary night with global entertainer Lusito Rosario on August 9 at 6 pm. Madison’s popular dance band VO5 will take to the stage at 8 pm. Week 3: August 16 – Come together with The Funkee JBeez on August 16 at 6 pm. At 8 p.m., Orquesta Salsoul del Mad, Madison’s premiere Latin soul band, will perform. Week 4: On August 23 at 6 p.m., Grupo Candela will bring the best of Latin music from around the world to the rooftop, followed by the Eddie Butt Band. Week 5: On the final day of Dane Dances, August 30 at 6 p.m., Chicago’s Aniba and The Sol Starz will play soulful funk rock. Rebulu Group, one of Madison’s new favorite Latin jazz groups, will perform at 8 p.m.
