International soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo launched his own YouTube channel on Wednesday and has almost instantly garnered millions of subscribers. Ronaldo’s channel, “UR Cristiano,” features content about himself and his family.
“The wait is over! My YouTube channel is finally here! Subscribe and join me on this new journey,” Ronaldo posted on Instagram.
Ronaldo’s channel was an instant success, gaining 1 million subscribers in under 90 minutes, setting a new record for the fastest YouTube channel to reach 1 million subscribers. As of Thursday afternoon, Ronaldo’s channel had 22.8 million subscribers, easily surpassing the comparable account, Lionel Messi, which had just 2.31 million subscribers.
The extraordinary growth of Ronaldo’s channel has also led some to monitor his subscriber count alongside that of Mr. Beast, the most on YouTube with 331 million subscribers. A quick search of Cristiano Ronaldo’s name will reveal several live videos monitoring his subscriber count side-by-side with that of Mr. Beast.
Ronaldo is the most followed person on social media, with nearly 1 billion followers across Facebook, X and Instagram, with Instagram boasting a staggering 636 million followers.
