Portuguese soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo launched his new YouTube channel just a week ago and now has over 50 million subscribers.
Widely regarded as one of the greatest soccer players of all time, Cristiano Ronaldo is also one of the most successful figures across social media. In November 2022, Ronaldo became the first person to reach 500 million followers on Instagram. Currently, @cristiano is the most followed person on Instagram with 637 million followers. Combined with his followers on X and Facebook, Ronaldo has almost 1 billion followers across his accounts. Now, Ronaldo is continuing this online success with the launch of his YouTube channel.
Ronaldo launched the @cristiano YouTube channel on August 21 and quickly posted 12 videos. In just 90 minutes, the channel became the fastest to reach 1 million subscribers. Four hours later, Ronaldo surpassed 5 million subscribers. Ronaldo’s channel also achieved the highest number of subscribers in a 24-hour period, surpassing 19 million. For this achievement, Ronaldo was awarded a plaque commemorating 1 million subscribers.
Within a week of its launch, Cristiano Ronaldo’s channel had surpassed 50 million subscribers, making it the 66th most subscribed channel of all time. The channel has uploaded 22 videos (including shorts), each of which has received over 1 million views, for a total of 282 million views.
