Thousands of manga and anime characters took over the Jacob Javits Convention Center over the weekend of the 2024 Anime NYC convention.
For three days, the entertainment mecca at 34th Street and 11th Avenue was packed with cosplayers dressing up as their favorite fictional characters. From comic book heroes to video game villains, people of all ages flocked to the convention center from August 23rd to 25th.
Anime NYC began in 2017 and features more than 800 exhibitors, as well as anime screenings, panels, and autograph sessions with manga artists, voice actors, and creators. Organized by LeftField Media, the convention attracted 63,000 visitors last year and is expected to attract around 100,000 in 2024, and is designed to bring enthusiastic fans together in the heart of the Big Apple.

Featured cosplayers included The Crow, made famous by Brandon Lee, Juliet Starling from the video game series Lollipop Chainsaw, Skirk from Genshin Impact, Harley Quinn and Red Hood from the Batman series, Monkey D. Luffy from One Piece, and many more.
In addition to the dress-up party, fans also had the opportunity to play arcade games and trading cards, purchase artwork and other merchandise, and get autographs from voice actors.
According to Anime NYC, above all else, the convention will be a celebration of Japanese culture and its influence on American society.
