Variety announced that Warner Bros. Television Group chairman and CEO Channing Dungey and DC Studios co-chairman and co-CEO Peter Safran will appear at City National Bank’s annual Entertainment & Technology Summit in Los Angeles on September 26.
Dungey, who was recently appointed to soon assume oversight of WBD’s U.S. networks business in addition to overseeing the Warner Bros. Television Group, will discuss his vision for television storytelling that connects with audiences broadly across his team’s work on live-action scripted series Ted Lasso and Abbott Elementary, the worlds of The Big Bang Theory and Presumed Innocent, hit unscripted shows The Bachelor and The Voice, and hit animated shows Batman: The Caped Crusader and Harley Quinn.
Safran will discuss the leadership of the recently formed DC Studios, where he and Co-Chairman and Co-CEO, renowned writer and director James Gunn, are leading the effort to bring the power and greatness of the DC Universe across film, television, animation and games under one banner, starting with the highly anticipated theatrical release of “Joker: Folie à Deux” and “The Penguin” on HBO/Max.
AMC Theatres CEO Adam Aaron will also be joining the summit to discuss the importance of the theatrical experience and how innovations in cinema technology are helping bring audiences back to theaters.
Alisa Bowen, president of Disney+, Annie Luo, EVP of Global Partnerships and Strategic Development at Peacock, Charlie Collier, president of media at Roku, Pierluigi Gazzolo, CEO of ViX, Inc. and TelevisaUnivision, Inc., and Frank Boulben, chief revenue officer at Verizon, will participate in a panel discussion themed “Perfecting the Streaming Business.”
Erin Oremland, general manager of AgilLink and SVP and head of ecosystem delivery at City National Bank, will be featured in a conversation called “Driving Financial Operations in an Uncertain Media Market.”
Charlotte Maines, Director of EDS Advertising and Monetization at Fire TV, Rachel Delphin, CMO at Twitch, and Nick Pepper, Head of Wholly Owned Content at Amazon MGM Studios, will discuss how the streaming media landscape serves as a conduit to diversify audience reach while building brand equity and customer trust.
Scopely Chief Revenue Officer Tim O’Brien will speak about how big deals and mergers are changing both the traditional entertainment and video game industries.
Michael Wise, CTO of Universal Filmed Entertainment Group, Avi Ashok, VP of Travel Incubator at Expedia Group, and Katja Reitemeyer, Director of Data Science and AI for Media and Entertainment at Nvidia, joined Eli Collins, VP of DeepMind at Google, Phil Weiser, CTO at Paramount Global, and Victoria Boussis, Director and Creative Technologist, on the “Generative AI – Let the Genie Out of the Bottle and Succeed” panel.
Emmy-nominated actor and host of “The Mess Around” and “The Lamorning After” Lamorne Morris has been added to the “Podcast All-Stars” panel, which also includes Jesse Tyler Ferguson, host of “Dinner’s on Me with Jesse Tyler Ferguson,” Jenna Ushkowitz, host of “And That’s What You REALLY Missed,” Iliza Shlesinger, host of “Ask Iliza Anything,” and Whitney Cummings, host of “Good For You.”
