Newsquest’s Crystal Palace correspondent can exclusively report that Celtic are interested in re-signing Odsonne Edouard.

Bobby Manzi reports:
‘Exclusive: Celtic are interested in a reunion with Crystal Palace striker Odsonne Edouard, with the Frenchman potentially available with Palace and Arsenal close to agreeing a deal for Eddie Nketiah.’
It remains to be seen whether there is anything to come of this, with Celtic manager Rocco Vata thanking the club for the offer but turning it down, after which manager Brendan Rodgers appeared to suggest he was content with Daizen Maeda as a third striker rather than signing a younger player.
Celtic have just splashed out £9.5 million on Adam Idah and Kyogo has only just recovered from a week out with a shoulder injury sustained at Easter Road, so it is unlikely the Frenchman will return to Celtic. Kyogo has, of course, been linked with a move to English champions Manchester City, with talk emerging from the City side last week.

The only way Celtic could bring Osonne Edouard back to the club is if Kyogo leaves.
Odsonne Edouard joined Celtic from PSG for a record fee, prior to the recent arrival of Adam Idah from Norwich. He started well for Palace but his form and confidence dipped last season as he struggled to score the required number of goals.
At the end of the season, Palace were reportedly open to offers and around the time he made a surprise appearance at the Celtic Player of the Year awards ceremony at the Hydro, where Matt O’Reilly, who is set to complete a £30m move to Brighton today, was named Celtic’s Player of the Year.
Strangely, Matt never got any songs from Celtic supporters, but that wasn’t the case for Edouard.
