Week 3 is officially planned. To be honest, I’m 100% looking forward to seeing it firmly in my rearview mirror.
In a week full of unexpected upsets, they finished 1-4 against the spread and money line. Currently I’m between 6th and 10th in both categories, but I’m not happy with it.
But Week 4 brings new opportunities. The fourth week brings an opportunity for redemption.
Here’s what I like about going into week 4:
All odds are provided by ESPN Bet. Please gamble responsibly.
Denver Broncos @ New York Jets
Line: Jets -7.5
Over/Under: 38.5
Moneyline: Jets -380, Broncos +300
Big Dog Play: New York -7.5
Explanation: Yes, there are a lot of points, but so far I have struggled with big spreads. But now the situation has changed,
The Jets are the best team on third down in the NFL. The Broncos are forced to travel long distance for the second straight week. This time they will face a defense that is not only better than Tampa Bay last week, but also healthier.
Denver would also be in, but the Jets proved to be too much.
Jets 27, Broncos 17
Tennessee Titans @ Miami Dolphins
Line: Dolphins -1
Over/Under: 36.5
Moneyline: Dolphins -120, Titans even.
Big Dog Play: Miami -1
Description: Tyler Huntley is expected to play quarterback for Miami this week. Is he elite? no.
Do I trust him more than Will Levis? absolutely.
The Dolphins are desperate to get back on track here. They accomplished just that in a primetime win over Tennessee, which is struggling to solve its spiraling quarterback problem.
Dolphins 34, Titans 13
mortal rock parlay
leg number 1
Los Angeles Rams @ Chicago Bears
Line: Bears -3
Over/Under: 40.5
Moneyline: Bears -155, Rams +135
Play: Chicago -3
Explanation: I’ll be honest here: I’m going to ride with the Bears until they give me a definitive reason not to. We’ll know the answer this week.
Chicago desperately needs a win or a successful drive on offense. The Rams are still plagued by injuries, have a young defense, and are coming off an impressive come-from-behind victory at home. They now travel thousands of miles to play a desperate organization.
The Bears have to win again and again, but if the Rams find a way to win, you’ll see Bears head coach Matt Eberflus’ hot seat get heated.
Bears 27, Rams 21
Leg No.2
Cincinnati Bengals @ Carolina Panthers
Line: Bengals -5.5
Over/Under: 44.5
Moneyline: Bengals -215, Panthers +180
Theater: Cincinnati -5.5
Description: One team is 0-3 and the other team is 1-2. To the surprise of all NFL fans, it’s Cincinnati who holds an 0-3 record. This team is hoping something will work out in the end.
Ironically, it’s a road game against the Carolina Panthers and Andy Dalton of the Red Rifles. This game sells itself.
The Panthers have struggled, but like the Bears, the Bengals are in a desperate situation. If they fall to 0 wins and 4 losses, it would be the worst nightmare scenario. That doesn’t happen here.
Joe Burrow marched Cincinnati down the field to win the game.
Bengals 34, Panthers 27
leg number 3
Pittsburgh Steelers @ Indianapolis Colts
Line: Steelers -1.5
Over/Under: 39.5
Moneyline: Steelers -135, Colts +115
Play: Steelers -1.5
Explanation: Pittsburgh’s defense is off to a historic start to 2024, giving up just six points in the second half.
The Steelers are also starting to find a rhythm offensively. Justin Fields is starting to get comfortable as the Black and Gold’s quarterback.
Now they enter Indianapolis. This team has a great receiving group and one of the best running backs in the NFL in Jonathan Taylor. But Anthony Richardson was a notch above Will Revis. That’s like saying a perfectly toasted pizza has three pieces of untouched, golden-brown cheese.
Pittsburgh continues to perform well, with Najee Harris having a statement game and Nick Herbig causing havoc against TJ Watt.
Steelers 24, Colts 6
