Beth Phoenix hopes to continue contributing to the professional wrestling industry.
Phoenix, a WWE Hall of Famer and former multiple-time Women’s Champion, recently spoke about the topic in an interview with Chris Van Villet. Phoenix feels that she and her husband, Adam Copeland (Edge), have a wealth of experience as television performers and could potentially open a wrestling school to impart their knowledge to students.
All that and more, plus the wrestling opportunities. I haven’t tossed the idea of opening a wrestling school around. My husband and I have years of experience in television. We can teach the top wrist lock and stuff, but there’s a difference between teaching on camera and working in promotions and creating a story that’s compelling and gets people talking and wanting to come back. I feel like I have a lot to share and teach about the nuances of storytelling in this business.
Elsewhere in the interview, Phoenix confirmed that he is no longer under contract with WWE and is now a free agent on the competitive wrestling market, which you can read about here.
