Ben Shapiro is a controversial figure but one of the US’ leading conservative political commentators. His book, The Right Side of History: How Reason and Moral Purpose Made the West Great, is a New York Times bestseller.
In a spiky Politics Live interview with Andrew Neil, Mr Shapiro refers to an incident which took place between Trump campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski and Breitbart reporter Michelle Fields in 2016.
Although a charge was brought at the time against Mr Lewandowski, Florida prosecutors dropped the case.
This is an unedited version of their interview, which was terminated by Mr Shapiro.

All American "debaters" fall apart as soon as they meet a moderately intelligent Brit
5 years ago BBC was extreme left and no one knew.. today things remain the same .. what a bunch clueless people 😂.. on their way to be like venezuela
Ain’t nobody listening to you Ben! You’re a cultist!
HAHAHAHA!! Ben's such a dumbass!! Doesn't even know when someone's simply playing devil's advocate!! And worse, he doesn't know the interviewer is even MORE UBERconservative than Shapiro is!! Oh god, comedy gold!! Thanks Sqeaks (Shapiro)!!' 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Man, Ben Shapiro's as big as a joke as that Tate guy
American motor mouth destroyed 😂
I'm on Ben's side here. The presenter is clearly biased, but that bias is shrouded under what he must believe to be common civility. For example, suppose you believe that abortion is murder, which Mr. Shapiro holds. In that case, declaring that the prevention of murder is barbaric is obviously something that comes from a subjective alternative view. There is no point talking with someone who says, "Well, you said this," when, like Mr. Shapiro stated multiple times in this interview, there is a list on his website of statements he regrets saying. One should do their homework on this type of thing. This becomes no longer about seeking to pick Mr. Shapiro's mind about things that are not already public knowledge and thus useless.
I would leave, too. This isn't a trial, and if you really want someone to justify every statement they made, even the ones they rescind, then you are being unreasonable. As for the Palestine comment, he is correct. You can make the statistical inference that, by and large, the Palestinian people are not interested in developing the land they have but rather in destroying Israel. They tarnished the irrigation systems, farms, powerlines, and piping all across Gaza to build weapons. They voted in Hamas by majority, a registered terrorist group, and celebrate their actions. They indoctrinate their children to feed the war machine. Thus, his statement is true. Trying desperately to accuse Mr. Shapiro of improper conduct would be the same as accusing a statistician of racism for listing statistics. It is a post-positive argument and wholly unproductive.
I watch shapiro to hear when his ⚾️🏀🏐⚽️ drop.
Ben Shapiro: LEFT
Ben Shapiro is the epitomy of the saying. STUPID PEOPLE BEING OFFENDED BY THE FACTS AND SMART PEOPLE STATING THE OBVIOUS.
5:36 ‘My answer is science’ with allll those sources you cited. Oh, wait, you can’t because they all disagree with you. Life begins when a foetus is completely viable outside of the womb, not conception (so no, not hooked up to loads of machines, viable ALONE). Scientific consensus.
You'll notice that whenever Ben "wins" debates it's because it's in a setting where he is basically the host. As soon as he can't control where the conversation goes, he runs away.
You would do well, Mr Shapiro, to listen to the BBC interview that Michael Parkinson did with Dr Jacob Bronowski. You could learn much.
This is all crazy! Why are we still debating all this bullshit in 2024? If you really wanna know, nobody believes in God and even less in Jesus (unless he trows the sandals and simple vests away, appears in an expensive yellow truck and start saying that now being richer than your neighbor is better, and that the camel always passes through the needle). We completely now that there's only conservetive people that are afraid of the uncertainty of progress (or just changing)… and don't like their traditional secured ways of living to change (which was always unavoidable). I'm a 48 years old portuguese, and I grew up before the cell phone with cameras, in my time as a kid there were still miracles happening regularly (people witnessing images people curing diseases with their hands, etc) and if you are really a sane person with a bit memory, you know perfectly that this all changed in less than 10 years, with the fast evolution of mobile phones with cameras that now are available in every potential miracle witness. Ghosts, spectral phenomena, ufo's and any spectacular phenomenon that can be created by creative fiction, all got simple in 10 years! Now if people would really (really) believe in Good, Jesus or in the Bible, they really would never invest the future of their kids in the university learning sciences that all tend to make the Good, Jesus or the Bible look crazy, they would simply leave their kids in churches with priests (which nobody even consider safe) to guarantee that they would have the best chances to live eternity in heaven (and not in hell). Eternity is really a lot of time for you to invest in something that, not only doesn't have tools for a future in heaven, most probably goes against it. You can believe in whatever you want, fairy tales, flat earth, all of the unknown entities or "they" on all the crazy conspiracies (that are simply different on every crazy believer).. but what you could really do is be really truthful to yourself and just don't say bullshit that you really don't believe
Ben Shapiro's carry on was shocking.
This old partisan curmudgeon was ridiculous. I'm surprised Ben entertained him as long as he did.
BBC is so far left, they left reality and joined the world of conspiracy theories.
😂
Shapiro is definitely bipolar. Dude is absolutely nuts
wow this aged well. Well done Mr. Neil
Referring to the American Democratic Party as "left" is pretty wild.
What an absolute dullard.
Shapiro is a typical right wing thin skinned hypocrite.
holy sht . ben got smoked
He Has Beeg 1999
Ben Shapiro: "I believe in the facts and logic. I never let my emotions get the better of me, unlike those snowflake leftists."
Also Ben Shapiro, when he gets asked: "You think society is turning it's back on it's Judeo-Christian values. What are those values it's turning it's back on?" "Fuck you you evil Lefty!"
THIS HUMILIATION OF SHAPIRO COULD NOT HAPPEN TO A MORE DESERVING GUY
For the first time ever I find my self on BBC side, it’s mad that Shapiro teaches debate techniques today…
So this POS thinks everyone should fund that POS zionist country which was taken on the force of weapons
I have never seen Ben get owned this badly… Probably because it's the first time he's ever faced a proper journalist.. one who does not voice their personal opinion during a show nor fall under pressure to state which side of the board they are on… I truly believe Neil would have asked equally difficult, if not more, questions to a leftist guest as well….
Really? Shapiro DESTROYED him by talking over him, not answering questions, and walking off the interview? Shapiro is an overgrown baby.
Hilarious. Well done, Andrew Neil. Mr know it all Shapiro didn't like being questioned did he? And this is why America gets it all wrong. Their journalists rarely ask hard questions or fact-check their interviewees. Trump for example only ever speaks to Fox where he is guaranteed soft ball questions.
The BBC has always been extremely biased. Constantly pushing an agenda and saying they're not.
Ben Shitpiro, the poormans intellectual. Intellectually and morally bankrupt in every way. Nothing more than a racist, bigoted, greedy evil chickenhawk. Evil little bigot.
It’s 2024 and BS Ben is still weird
Weird little voice
Weird outlook on politics
Weird angry little face
Shapiro is strong, I don’t get all these comments. Timely left when understood that explicating deeper is pointless. So what superficial cornering style of the host?
This is what happens when you make your bones dominating dialogue and speed talking over teenagers and then finding yourself woefully unprepared to have a conversation with an actual journalist.
