Badshah crosses the billion barrier
Indian rapper Badshah reached a milestone when his 2016 hit “Kala Chashma” crossed 1 billion views on YouTube. The song, which featured Katrina Kaif and Siddharth Malhotra from the film “Baar Baar Dekho,” was the first Indian rapper to achieve this feat. The feat comes just weeks before Badshah is scheduled to headline Mirch Fest in the Netherlands.
Badshah expressed his gratitude for the achievement, saying, “It’s a testament to the incredible support and love I’ve received from my fans,” and he sees the achievement as a testament to Indian hip-hop’s growing acceptance globally.
Saurabh Abi of TM Talent Management said the song is a testament to the impact it has had on Indian pop culture and to introducing Indian music to the global stage.
Rolling out the red carpet
Italian production company Blue Yazmin has acquired local rights to Nippon Television’s hit non-scripted game show “Red Carpet Survival.” The Italian-produced show will have 30-60 minute episodes, be filmed near Milan, and will be available on Prime Video Italy in 2025.
Red Carpet Survival is a high-energy game show in which contestants become bodyguards tasked with escorting celebrity VIPs to safety. Their mission is to keep the VIP on the red carpet to their destination no matter what. They must withstand physical blows and survive a series of traps secretly set in their path, including giant explosions, robot and crocodile attacks.
The original format was created and produced by Nippon Television and commissioned for broadcast on the Japanese broadcast network.
