An Israeli missile has hit Iran, US officials have told the BBC’s partner station CBS News. Iranian state media cited unconfirmed reports of explosions being heard around the central city of Isfahan, saying three drones were destroyed after the country’s air defence systems were activated. World leaders have called on Venezuela to release the full details of the election, after the country’s opposition published voting tallies showing its candidate, Edmundo González, won by a wide margin. Last Sunday, the electoral council, which is government-controlled, announced President Maduro had won the election for a third term. Israel has carried out air strikes on the Houthi-controlled Red Sea port of Hodeidah in Yemen, a day after a drone launched by the group hit Tel Aviv. According to Houthi-linked news outlets, three people have died, and more than 80 injured in Saturday’s strikes. On Sunday morning, the Israeli military said it had shot down a missile fired from Yemen before it crossed into Israel’s air space. Doug Mills who works for the New York Times caught the attempted assassination of Donald Trump on camera on Saturday. “When he gestured and then looked… and then grabbed his ear and looked at his hand, I immediately knew that something was bad,” he said. Trump’s ear was grazed by a bullet after a gunman shot at him from a nearby rooftop during a campaign rally in Pennsylvania. A day of mourning is being observed in Ukraine after one of the worst waves of Russian missile strikes in months, with at least 41 people killed and 166 injured. The main children’s hospital in the capital Kyiv was among buildings hit in cities across the country on Monday.
