Former Real Betis left-back Alex Moreno is expected to leave Aston Villa before the transfer window closes, potentially seeing the 31-year-old return to Spain, with manager Unai Emery admitting he could leave the club this summer.
Nottingham Forest are keen to sign Moreno but Football Insider reports that he is more likely to want to return to his home country with Villarreal, Sevilla and Valencia all interested in signing him, with Premier League teams clearly better able to foot the bill for his wages.

A move for Moreno, a fan favourite at rivals Real Betis, to Sevilla would be a major talking point in Andalusia, with the club also interested in Atletico Madrid left-back Javi Galan, according to Marca, while Los Nervionenses are currently in talks with River Plate over the transfer of Marcos Acuña, who has been given the green light to move, and are looking for a replacement.
Moreno made just 10 appearances for Villa under Emery last season but was one of Spain’s best left-backs at the time of his departure – the same could be said of Galan before his move to Atletico – while Sevilla currently have Adria Pedrosa in good form but sporting director Victor Horta will likely be looking for a replacement.
