It will come as no surprise to Arsenal fans that the club has been rumoured to be linked with Leroy Sané in recent days. In addition to his impressive performance in the Champions League quarter-finals, Mikel Arteta knows Sané well from their time together at Manchester City. In fact, Sané himself has highly praised Arteta for contributing greatly to the development of his playing style.
In April, Sane said (via the Mirror ): “I [Arteta]He taught me that, and I still take that to heart and incorporate it into my game: positioning, how to behave in certain positions, etc. I’m grateful for that.”
Leroy Sane is currently being looked at as a logical replacement for Nico Williams, with the Spaniard more likely to join Barcelona than Arsenal. Needless to say, Arsenal will be aware of Leroy Sane and Mikel Arteta would be in favour of bringing him to North London, but is there interest on both sides?
According to Sky Sports Germany, the answer is no. Arsenal want to sign Leroy Sané, but the interest is entirely one-sided as he wants to re-sign with Bayern Munich. Still, the player is yet to decide on his future, so Arsenal will likely keep a close eye on Sané’s situation, hoping for the best, until a final ruling is made.
Leroy Sané is dynamic, direct and versatile. His ability to play on either wing makes him very attractive to manager Mikel Arteta, who values these attributes in his ideal player. Sané can play centrally if needed, but his raw speed makes him well suited to playing on the wing.
Arsenal have already announced the signings of goalkeepers David Raya and Tommy Thetford and defensive midfielder Riccardo Calafiori, so their attention will naturally turn to midfield and attack.
Do you think Arsenal should sign Leroy Sane from Bayern Munich?
