Final Cut Pro
In June, Apple released Final Cut Pro for iPad 2, which turns the iPad into an even more powerful production studio, and Final Cut Pro for Mac 10.8, which features significant artificial intelligence-driven organizational updates to streamline workflows, and now the company is touting these upgrades in a new video uploaded to YouTube.
Final Cut Pro for iPad 2 unleashes the power of the new iPad Pro with the blazingly fast M4 chip, supporting up to 2x faster rendering speeds and up to 4x more ProRes RAW streams than the M1. The all-new Live Multicam feature lets users wirelessly connect and preview up to four cameras simultaneously in one place. When used with a combination of iPhone and iPad devices, users can use the new pro app Final Cut Camera to get a director’s view of each camera and manually control their preferences. In addition to powering Live Multicam, Final Cut Camera also works as a standalone recording app on iPhone and iPad, allowing users to adjust settings like manual focus, shutter speed, ISO, and more.
To provide more storage flexibility when working with large files, Final Cut Pro for iPad 2 now supports external projects, a highly requested feature. Users can create new projects or open existing projects without taking up internal storage space. Final Cut Pro for iPad 2 also supports the new Apple Pencil Pro, utilizing barrel rolls for more precise control over live drawing tools and squeezing to quickly recall brushes and settings.
Final Cut Pro for Mac 10.8 helps take your pro workflow to the next level. Harnessing the power of Apple Silicon’s Neural Engine, Final Cut Pro adds new AI features: Enhance Light and Color and Smooth Slo-Mo. Enhance Light and Color automatically adjusts color correction in your video, while Smooth Slo-Mo intelligently blends video frames for the best quality movement. New organization tools also make your post-production workflow more efficient, including custom names for color correction and video effects in the inspector, finding and moving clips that are missing media or effects in the Timeline Index, and text-based timeline search by reel, scene, camera angle and other information.
