Amazon announced Tuesday that it has removed from its site a memoir allegedly about the abusive relationship between late actor and model Kim Porter and her longtime partner, hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs. .
Porter and Combs’ children claimed the book, titled “Kim’s Lost Words: A Journey for Justice, From the Other Side…” was a complete fabrication after it became an Amazon bestseller in September. he accused.
An Amazon spokesperson said in a statement: “We are aware of a dispute regarding this title and have notified the publisher.” “This book is currently not for sale in our store.”
The independent publisher is Todd Christopher Gutse, who goes by the name Chris Todd and defines himself as an “investigative producer, author, and journalist.” Todd told The Associated Press in a September phone interview that the source was “very close to Kim and Sean.” Combs” provided “flash drives, documents, and tapes” from Porter, and Todd ultimately used the pseudonym Jamal T. Millwood in publishing the title to create his memoirs.
Todd did not comment on the removal when contacted by The Associated Press on Tuesday.
The book details physical abuse, sexual coercion, and other acts of violence that Combs allegedly committed. The $22 paperback was quietly released on Amazon, but its price soared after news of Combs’ arrest and the shocking charges against him. He pleaded not guilty.
The memoir reached No. 1 on Amazon’s bestseller list in September, but then dropped down the charts and Amazon eventually removed the magazine from its site.
