“Daddy” got a new house, and the house is worth millions of dollars.
Alex Cooper, host of the “Call Her Daddy” podcast and founder of the Unwell Network, is moving her multi-million dollar audio empire to SiriusXM. She will debut an “extensive range of exclusive content” on SiriusXM starting in 2025, the audio entertainment company announced Tuesday.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the multi-year deal with the podcaster is worth $125 million.
Cooper, who launched “Call Her Daddy” with co-creator Sophia Franklin in 2018, said in a release that she’s excited for the next chapter of her career at SiriusXM and hinted that the team has a lot more in store for her “Daddy Gang.” In addition to “Call Her Daddy,” cast members of other Unwell Network series, including “Hot Mess With Alix Earle,” “Pretty Lonesome With Madeline Argy,” “Boyfriend Material With Harry Jowsey” and “In Your Dreams With Owen Thiele,” will also find new homes at SiriusXM.
Cooper launched “Call Her Daddy” on Barstool Sports but left the outlet in 2021 for Spotify in a deal reportedly worth $60 million. At Spotify, Cooper expanded the podcast’s reach and buzz, making it the go-to platform for stars like “Call Her Daddy”‘s famous guests, Jane Fonda, Post Malone, Miley Cyrus, Janelle Monae, Rebel Wilson and Gwyneth Paltrow.
While Cooper and her Anwell Network shows are new to SiriusXM, the deal is not exclusive and the shows will also air under Cooper’s name on other streaming platforms, including Spotify.
SiriusXM President and Chief Content Officer Scott Greenstein, in a statement Tuesday, praised Cooper’s “fearless and forthright approach.”
“SiriusXM is the perfect home for Alex to continue her incredible growth trajectory. We have the unique ability to introduce her and her growing list of outstanding talents to new listeners while also best serving her core fans with new content,” Greenstein said. “Alex is the voice of a new generation, and I can’t wait to see what we do together in the future.”
Cooper told The Times in 2022 that he rejects “the notion that making a podcast is easy.”
“It’s a really hard job,” she says. “I’m very proud that my whole life revolves around it. I work every Sunday. I work seven days a week. And I love it. I wouldn’t want to do anything else.”
