Just when we thought this summer couldn’t get any worse, Adele comes along and breaks our hearts.
The singer reportedly said he plans to take an extended break from the music industry.
“At the moment, my energy tank is empty,” she told German broadcaster ZDF in a recently published interview. “I have no plans for new music whatsoever.”
Adele spoke to the crowd ahead of 10 shows in Munich, after which she plans to step back from the spotlight.
“After this I want to take a big break and do some other creative things for a little while,” she told the outlet.
Adele also spoke about her feelings about being a celebrity.
“I don’t like being famous,” she said. “I like being able to make music all the time.”
Adele has previously taken time off the music scene to rekindle her creativity.
Her debut album, 19, was released in 2008, and its critically acclaimed follow-up, 21, was released three years later.
It took another four years for their third studio album, “25,” to be released in 2015, and their fourth, “30,” to be released in 2021.
Before you start lighting fires at the rain about how you could have it all, remember that Adele previously let us know how she prioritizes her career.
“My career is not my life,” she told Rolling Stone magazine in 2015. “It’s my hobby.”
