Best known for her role in The Princess Diaries, Heather Matarazzo has ditched the glitz and glamour of Hollywood for a quieter life in Michigan.
Matarazzo, 41, explained that he and his wife, Heather Turman, a Michigan native and comedian, prefer a simpler lifestyle, surrounded by nature.
“Yes, it’s true. I live in Michigan,” she said in the TikTok.

“We looked at each other and were like, ‘Do we want to be in L.A. anymore?’ And the answer was a resounding no. I’ve only ever lived in New York or L.A. so this has been quite an experience for me and will continue to be.”
“I love it here. I really love it. There’s so much nature and everyone I’ve met has been incredibly kind.”

Although Matarazzo has moved on to more affluent circumstances, he hasn’t completely disappeared from the Hollywood spotlight.
The former “Scream” star, who will appear in season two of “Wednesday,” starring Jenna Ortega, explained that he has traveled to Dublin from Michigan several times for work.

Matarazzo said she couldn’t be happier living in the Great Lakes state, listing her favorite things about her new home, including the apple cider doughnuts and the Ann Arbor Art Fair.
“I’m so glad I can finally work in the garden and the animals seem so happy. I absolutely love it here, there’s so much nature and everyone I’ve met has been incredibly kind,” she added.

The “Saved!” actress ended her social media video by expressing her gratitude for her new home, even though she still wouldn’t call herself a “Michiganer.”

Matarazzo rose to fame at the age of 12 when she starred in the 1995 film “Welcome to the Dollhouse.” She also appeared in the final season of “Roseanne” in 1997. Her other television and film credits include “Now and Again,” “54” and “The Devil’s Advocate.”
In 2001, the actress starred alongside Julie Andrews in the hit Disney film The Princess Diaries, playing the role of Anne Hathaway’s best friend, Lily.
