SALAMANCA — One of the most incredible blues artists is coming to heat up the Southern Tier this fall.
Seneca Allegany Resort & Casino will welcome George Thorogood & The Destroyers to the Seneca Allegany Events Center on Saturday, October 26th at 7pm for an unforgettable night of music.
Tickets will go on sale at noon on Friday and start at $40.
Legendary blues rock musician Thorogood has been captivating audiences around the world for over 50 years with his electrifying performances and unmistakable blues rock sound.
Known as the frontman of George Thorogood and the Destroyers, he produced such mega-hits as “Bad to the Bone,” “I Drink Alone,” “Who Do You Love” and “Move It on Over.” Thorogood’s rugged, rebellious style has become synonymous with classic rock and blues, garnering a devoted fanbase around the world.
“Would I rather be the critics’ choice or the people’s choice,” he told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution in a November interview. “The people are the real critics. They’re the real critics!”
Formed in 1973, the group originally started as a trio consisting of a guitarist, drummer and rhythm guitarist. Though the trio had only rehearsed once or twice, guitarist George Thorogood and drummer Jeff Simon had been jamming together since they were teenagers in Delaware.
Fifty years later, over 8,000 shows and 15 million albums sold, there aren’t many bands from the ’70s that can rock a venue like Thorogood and his Destroyers, which today consists of Thorogood, Simon and longtime Destroyers Bill Brough, Jim Surer and Buddy Leach.
“If the demand is there, if the desire is there, then the question is, can I still deliver,” Thorogood told the AJC. “I don’t want to be in a situation where I can’t deliver, and have people just see me and react and I can’t motivate them.”
Over the years, the band has toured with some of the biggest names in music, including The Allman Brothers Band, Little Feat, ZZ Top, Steve Miller Band, B.B. King, Bryan Adams and Buddy Guy. From their early days to today, George Thorogood and the Destroyers have built a reputation for high-energy live shows that continue to captivate audiences with their signature sound and enduring courage and passion.
Another performance coming to Seneca Allegany Resort & Casino is Carly Pearce, scheduled for March 28, 2025. Ticket prices start at $29.
