With over 611 million monthly users and ranking sixth among all social media platforms according to Search Engine Journal, X (formerly Twitter) is one of the most used social media platforms.
This makes the platform attractive to hackers, with at least one major security breach occurring almost every year. To solve this problem, the company introduced passkey authentication for accounts.
Think of a passkey as a digital key that’s split between your device and your X account. To access your account, just sign in with X and enter your passkey, and your device will use the key to automatically unlock your account. This makes it easier, faster, and more secure than traditional passwords or two-factor authentication systems.
And given the company’s current state of security, it was probably time to enable Passkey on Android as an added layer of security.
X enables passkey login for Android users
This new feature will provide increased account security and easier access for users.
How to enable X Passkey login on Android
To enable the passkey, log in to your Android device and ensure that your X-app is up to date and that you have a lock screen password set.
With that in mind, you can activate your passkey by following these simple steps:
Open the X app, click on your profile picture in the top right and go to “Settings and Support”.
