Threads, Meta’s answer to X (formerly Twitter), is making waves again. From a record-breaking start as the fastest-growing platform in history to reaching 200 million monthly active users in just 13 months, Threads has come a long way in a short space of time. To celebrate the first anniversary of its web version, it’s rolling out new features to improve user experience.
A major update expands Threads’ draft feature, which was first tested in February and released in March, allowing users to save up to 100 unfinished posts, giving content creators more flexibility to refine their thoughts before sharing.

Threads is also introducing a new audience insights tool. The insights screen shows demographics of viewers and engagers, including age, gender and location. It also shows total views and interactions, broken down by followers and non-followers. This data-driven approach can have a big impact on the content strategy of influencers and brands.

Desktop users aren’t left out either. The TweetDeck-like multi-column interface, first introduced in May, lets users pin searches, liked posts, activity, saved posts, profile pages, and insights. Users can also sort these columns in different orders, with the “For You” column remaining pinned as the first column on the left.
Additionally, Threads is testing a multi-feed experience on iOS with some users, though it’s unclear whether users will be able to reorder these feeds, TechCrunch reports. The Insights screen and column reordering have been rolling out to some users over the past few weeks.
These feature updates, coupled with Threads’ recent API release, demonstrate Meta’s ongoing efforts to improve its platform and establish itself as a major player in the social media space.
In the future, Mark Zuckerberg has hinted at adding more features, such as the ability to schedule posts, but one thing is clear: Threads is evolving from a quick response to X into a powerful platform in its own right.
