Joliet’s Rialto Square Theatre will offer a variety of holiday entertainment in 2024 with “Home for the Holidays.”
This year’s holiday entertainment will include family-friendly holiday shows and movies, concerts, social gatherings and a variety of special events.

Holiday movies include “The Polar Express” (November 30), “The Santa Clause” (December 10) and “The Grinch” (December 21).
All films start at 7pm. Tickets are $5. Tickets are available only at the Rialto box office.
Rialto Square Theatre is located at 102 N. Chicago St. in Joliet.
November 26: Christmas in Rialto: Fun Music Making
The “Home for the Holidays” series will kick off with a tree lighting at 6 p.m. and a concert at 7 p.m.
Tickets cost $20 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under.
November 27: Hospice Ai no Hikari
Lightways Hospice and Serious Illness Care will host a “Light of Love” tree lighting ceremony at 6 p.m.
The event is an opportunity to honor and remember family and friends during the holiday season.

November 29: Teddy Bear Tea
The Rialto’s annual “Teddy Bear Tea” will include a brunch buffet, Santa Claus and a commemorative teddy bear.
Tea times are 9:30am and 12:30pm
Tickets cost $30 for adults and $18 for children 12 and under.
Tickets sell out quickly so please reserve early – all attendees must have a ticket.
December 1: The Nutcracker by Chicago Festival Ballet
According to a news release from Rialto Square Theater, the family-friendly ballet is a “magical production” featuring “dazzling costumes, spectacular sets including a Christmas tree that grows before your eyes, and sensational choreography.”
The ballet starts at 2 p.m.
Tickets cost $44 and $35 for adults and $24 for children 12 and under.
December 2nd-4th: Merry Little Soiree featuring Nova Soul Quartet
This “chic” Christmas party will include a cash bar cocktail hour, a table for two on the Esplanade, a charcuterie board, a bottle of wine from Bishop’s Hill, and holiday music by Nova Soul. Attendees will also receive a Rialto souvenir.
Cocktail hour begins at 6:15 PM. Performance begins at 7 PM. Tickets are $70 and are available only at the Rialto box office. Please specify red or white wine when purchasing tickets. Reservations are required.
December 5th: Oak Ridge Boys American Made Christmas Farewell Tour
According to a press release, “With beautiful visuals, falling snow and Christmas trees, this musical production by The Oak Ridge Boys is sure to delight adults and children of all ages and also includes a visit from Santa Claus and songs from the group’s seven best-selling Christmas CDs.”
The extended performance will begin at 7:30 p.m. and will feature the Grammy Award-winning quartet’s classic country-pop hits, as well as a mix of traditional and contemporary songs.
Ticket prices are $79, $69 and $59.
December 6: Cirque Musica Holiday Wonderland
The 15th annual Cirque Musica Holiday Wonderland begins at 7:30 p.m. This all-new show is a mesmerizing blend of circus artistry (acrobatics and aerial feats) and musicians and singers performing holiday melodies.
Ticket prices are $69.50, $54.50 and $39.50.
December 8: Joliet American Legion Band Concert
This annual concert begins at 2pm and is free with a donation of non-perishable food items.
The ticket distribution date and time will be announced at a later date.
The Joliet American Legion Band’s annual “Sounds of the Season” concert is “full of tradition, military edginess and musical integrity,” according to a release.
December 11: Tower of Power Holidays & Hits Tour
Tower of Power, which has been bringing you “the best in funk and soul music” for over 55 years, will perform holiday hits starting at 7:30 p.m.
Ticket prices are $61, $49 and $41.
December 12: “It’s a Wonderful Life!”: Live radio drama
Local radio talent will perform the Christmas classic “It’s a Wonderful Life!” live from the Rialto Stage.
The annual holiday season at the Rialto begins at 7 p.m.
Ticket prices are $25.50, $20.50 and $15.50.
According to the release, all proceeds from ticket sales will support Rialto Square Theatre’s mission “to bring the best and most talented artists to the Rialto Square stage.”
December 15: Big Bad Voodoo Daddy’s Wild Swinging Holiday Party
Big Bad Voodoo Daddy has been performing American swing and jazz for over 30 years, and according to the release, will “select from an extensive catalog of holiday classics and Christmas originals” to bring a “fun and quirky spin” to the holiday season.
The concert begins at 7:30 p.m.
Ticket prices are $63, $53, $48 and $43.
December 18: A Christmas Story Evening with Peter Billingsley
Peter Billingsley, who played Ralph Parker in the 1983 film “A Christmas Story,” will host a screening of the film.
The event, which begins at 7:30 p.m., will include a pre-show networking session, a film screening, a moderated Q&A, a Toys for Tots fundraiser and a leg lamp giveaway.
Ticket prices are $61, $49 and $39.
December 19: Jingle Mingle
The Rialto Square Theatre Foundation will host this inaugural event for youth starting at 7 p.m.
Events will include Christmas-themed appetizers, cash bar drink tickets, a live DJ, limited-time specialty cocktails and an ugliest sweater contest.
Tickets cost $30.
