Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly among several Premier League clubs interested in signing Jens Hjelt-Dahl, the highly-rated 18-year-old Norwegian midfielder currently playing for Tromso.
According to HITC, the young talent has caught the eye of several top clubs, with Tottenham making him a key target as they continue to strengthen their squad with promising young players.
Tottenham have been active in the transfer market this summer, adding several talented young players to their squad.
Archie Gray, Yang Min-hyuk and Wilson Odbert have all recently joined the squad, while January signing Lucas Belval has also integrated into Ange Postecoglou’s squad.
The addition of Hjelt-Dahl would demonstrate Tottenham’s seriousness in investing in young talent with great potential.
But Tottenham are not the only club interested in signing Hjelt Dahl, with HITC reporting that Liverpool, Aston Villa, Everton and Fulham are also interested in the Tromso star, with scouts from those clubs having travelled to Norway in recent months to watch the midfielder in action.
Hjelt-Dahl’s impressive performances have attracted a lot of attention and he has established himself as one of the most promising young players in Europe.
The report also highlights that Hjelt-Dahl’s appeal extends beyond the Premier League, with several major European clubs keeping an eye on him.
Clubs such as Borussia Dortmund, Bayer Leverkusen, Stuttgart, Sevilla, Valencia and Monaco are closely monitoring the teenager’s development, reflecting widespread recognition of his potential.
Given Tottenham’s recent selection of winger Wilson Odbert as a relatively low-cost option, there is also speculation that they may be prepared to spend significantly more on a top-class midfielder with a proven Premier League record.
However, Tottenham could still sign Hjelt-Dahl and then loan him out for a season to gain more experience before incorporating him into the first team.
