Light rain and heavy drizzle fell in parts of the UAE early this morning. Video posted by the Storm Centre showed heavy drizzle and light rain falling on the country’s east coast.
Meanwhile, the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has warned motorists of poor visibility due to developing fog on Saturday morning (August 17).
The Meteorological Bureau issued a red warning for reduced horizontal visibility, telling residents that visibility was likely to deteriorate further until 8.30am.

In a post by X, Abu Dhabi Police urged motorists to exercise caution due to poor visibility caused by fog. Motorists are urged to follow changing speed limits displayed on electronic information boards.

Most residents of the UAE can expect a sunny day on Saturday, but some cloudiness is possible at times, especially in the south. Low clouds are also expected to appear over the east coast today.

The Met Office also said humidity was likely to increase overnight and continue into Sunday morning, bringing with it the possibility of fog and haze over parts of the inland and coastal areas, especially in the west.
Light to moderate winds, which may intensify at times, are expected to blow across the country, causing dust storms, especially in the northern and eastern parts of the country.
In the Arabian Gulf, the sea will be small to medium, while in the Oman Sea, the sea will be small to medium and may be rough at times.
