Caledofflyn’s office building was built specifically for the then-fledgling local authority more than 25 years ago, but the council confirmed it would be relocating staff from the building in June following a review of its property portfolio.
The building is currently for sale, with Leggatt Owen handling the sale.
Staff were transferred to Russell House in Rhyl or County Hall in Ruthin.

But Denbigh councillor Mark Young expects the building to be filled quickly and believes there are multiple organisations interested.
“Obviously it’s always sad when people are touched, but it’s not sad when something good comes from it,” Young said.
“I think there are a lot of people who are interested in the building and I think something good could come out of it, so yes, it’s sad, but we can’t be depressed.”
“We have to think positively and we hope that the building will be taken over by an organisation that can provide what the community needs and keep the building filled so that visitor numbers don’t drop off. However, since lockdown the building has been getting emptier and emptier so naturally the council has had to consider the costs of consolidating, but I think there is an opportunity, so anyone interested in the building should make an offer as Denbigh is a great location and it would be great for the town.”
He added: “So let’s stay positive and hope that the right organisation takes over.”
A Denbighshire County Council spokesman said: “Denbighshire County Council is vacating its office space in Caledflynn, Denbigh as part of its asset rationalisation strategy and staff are now working from other council premises across the county.”
“The council has been working with partners to determine the future use of the land and how it will benefit the town. As part of this process, the land will be put up for sale via informal tender by Leggatt Owen from early August.”
Built on land formerly used as a shirt factory and agricultural market, construction of Caledofflyn Offices was completed in 1998 following the establishment of Denbighshire County Council in 1996.
