Meek Mill took to Twitter on August 14th to show his talents. The rapper decided to voice his opinions on several notable people, including Kamala Harris, Mark Cuban, and Elon Musk. However, the person that caught his attention the most was former President Donald Trump. Meek Mill had a lot to say about Trump, especially the assassination attempt on the former president. He made it clear that he was impressed by Trump, though little else was clear in the series of tweets.
It all started with Meek Mill talking about Stormy Daniels. The rapper recalled watching Daniels while he was incarcerated and claimed he learned about Donald Trump through the trial. Apparently, he was fascinated by what he learned. “My ex-husband is back in Trump’s life again,” he said. “I’ve never looked into Trump’s past and he even witnessed an OT7 riot in my neighborhood.” Then, in another tweet, the Philadelphia rapper offered his thoughts on the Trump assassination attempt. The verdict? Mill believed the ex-president handled it with style.
Meek Mill clarifies that he doesn’t support Trump
“He got shot. He basically gave me the middle finger. He got hit in the head but nobody ran,” Meek Mill wrote. “I hope you get better too cause we get shot a lot too.” The rapper went on to marvel at the fact that Donald Trump has been indicted on multiple charges and is still running for president. “Indicted and still running for president,” he concluded. “Who is this guy Trump? I know some wild ones but you know what? Lol. Just a thought.” Fans flocked to quote and comment on Meek Mill’s tweet. Perhaps sensing that he too was in for some controversy, the rapper decided to clarify a few points.
While praising Trump’s actions, Meek Mill said he is not endorsing any political candidate. “I don’t know anything about politics so I don’t endorse anyone,” he wrote in a subsequent tweet. “He was the owner of the building I owned when I lived in North Philly in poverty. I got shot watching him go to death row for environmentalism. All I see on my phone and TV is Trump and I’m like, who is this guy?” The only political cause Meek Mill has been vocal about is prison reform. He even told his fans that he would love a chance to discuss reform with Kamala Harris. “I would ask her 3 questions about black and brown men going to prison and her opinions to try and help her understand,” he asserted.
