The United Arab Emirates, the United States, Switzerland, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the African Union and the United Nations issued the following joint statement regarding Sudan:
“We are fully committed in Switzerland to day one of an intensive diplomatic effort to support Sudan’s humanitarian access, cessation of hostilities and compliance with the progress made so far in Jeddah, other efforts and international humanitarian law.”

Earlier in the day, the UAE expressed concern in a statement over the severe humanitarian crisis in Sudan, with more than 25 million Sudanese people facing severe food insecurity.
The UAE has previously stated that the humanitarian crisis in Sudan requires an urgent response to ensure a ceasefire and facilitate the rapid delivery of humanitarian assistance.
