Earlier this week, Fightful.com reported that “Dynamite Kid” Tommy Billington may have signed with AEW. FTR’s Dax Harwood commented on Billington in a video posted to his Instagram Story:…
“I hope he doesn’t mind me saying this, but he told me about his financial struggles. He’d moved to Canada to get more wrestling opportunities. He told me about his financial struggles. That night I told him, ‘After tonight, I’ll get you a job.’ The match was set. Of course, he showed up. He was offered a contract right there and then. He hadn’t accepted yet, but he was offered a contract right there and then.
The next day, WWE reached out to someone close to Tommy and asked if they would welcome him to AEW. I don’t want to call it a bidding war, but there was a little bit of a power play. Tom decided to come to AEW. I think you’ll be seeing a lot more of Tom Billington coming to AEW in the future.” (Source: Jeremy Lambert)
