The Tennessee Titans will once again wear light blue jerseys and navy pants for their Week 2 preseason game against the Seattle Seahawks on Saturday night at Nissan Stadium, Jim Wyatt of Titans Online reports.
The Titans last wore this uniform combination in Week 12 of the 2022 NFL season against the Cincinnati Bengals, after it was left out of the rotation last year.
This marks the second time the Titans have brought back a fan-favorite uniform for consecutive preseason weeks. Last week, Tennessee wore light blue tops and white pants against the San Francisco 49ers, a combination they hadn’t worn since Week 9 of the 2020 season.
The light blue jerseys and navy pants were first introduced in Week 1 of the 2003 season when the Titans defeated the then-Oakland Raiders 25-20 in Nashville.
Since then, the combination has been a rotation staple except for the 2015-2018 seasons, when the Titans implemented an all-navy or all-light blue look.
Tennessee went 2-1 in the light blue jersey and navy pants combination during the 2022 season, with wins over the Las Vegas Raiders and Indianapolis Colts before coming off a loss in Week 12 against the Bengals.
Here are some reactions on Twitter to the announcement:
This may be purely a cop-out, but I sincerely hope that the heavy use of light blue hints at a change in the future where light blue will be the main color of the jersey. If so, I’d be very happy https://t.co/eQWfwKQxSc
