A new player has entered the UAE professional services market: AKM Global.
AKM Global was founded in India over 40 years ago and has since grown into an accounting, tax and business consulting firm with six offices across India and 600 employees. The company is also based in Singapore to serve the South East Asian market and Dubai is currently the hub for the company’s expansion into the Middle East.
In a statement on the news, AKM Global said the launch builds on its existing track record in the UAE market, primarily in the area of corporate tax services, which include advising multinational companies on corporate tax and VAT matters, supporting the establishment of free zone companies, assisting US-based multinational companies in setting up representative offices, and completing tax benchmark studies.
“Having been active in the Middle East market for the past three years, this strategic expansion comes at a critical time with the launch of the corporate tax regime in the UAE. This move underlines our commitment to expanding our global footprint and providing focused services to clients in the region,” said Amit Maheshwari, Partner, Tax Practice, AKM Global.
The UAE tax service is led by Yeeshu Sehgal, who has been with the firm for over four years and is co-based in Dubai. “Our team of experienced professionals brings unparalleled expertise to every engagement, from international tax planning and transfer pricing to tax advisory services and due diligence,” he said.
The new Dubai office will also provide a range of non-tax services, including UAE/GCC entry strategies (Strategy), business valuations (Financial Advisory) and global mobility and immigration services (Human Resources).
Commenting on the expansion, Amit Maheshwari, Managing Partner, AKM Global said, “We are confident that our combined expertise and passion will enable us to provide superior service and support to our customers in the UAE.”
For Gurgaon-headquartered AKM Global, this expansion comes on the heels of another milestone for the company — becoming a member of Prime Global, a global network of independent accounting and consulting firms.
