Popular 90s and 2000s band, NSYNC, has made waves once again with their song “Bye Bye Bye” being featured in Marvel’s latest film, Deadpool and Wolverine. The song was featured during the opening credits, but fans didn’t miss the hit song playing as part of the background score. NSYNC edited the title of the song on their official YouTube page to coincide with the film’s release.

In the film, the character of a foul-mouthed comedian dances to the beat of the NSYNC hit during the opening credits. A video of Deadpool imitating the choreography from the official video for “Bye Bye Bye” went viral online. Fans say the opening scene is one of the best openings to a superhero movie ever.
The song has enjoyed renewed interest in the US and abroad as fans create short videos of themselves dancing to the hit song and imitating the iconic choreography.

Other movies featuring NSYNC hits
The third Deadpool movie is not the first movie to feature the song Bye Bye Bye. Interestingly, the song was also used in the 2003 movie X2. When William Stryker attacks the mansion, Logan escapes in Cyclops’ car with Rogue, Pyro, and Iceman. Pyro turns on the radio to fill the silence in the car, and the NSYNC hit plays on the stereo just before Logan discovers a fake emergency call device.

It’s interesting to note that the song was used again in Deadpool when Wolverine joined the cast. However, it is unclear if the song was part of an intended Easter egg or just a happy coincidence. Other movies in which the song has been used include Red Rocket, released in 2021, and Ted Lasso Season 2 Episode 11.
Though the band went their separate ways in 2004, their songs continue to resonate with fans today.
