TWICE’s “What is Love?” music video has surpassed 800 million views on YouTube.
The music video for “What is Love?”, the title track from TWICE’s fifth mini-album, released on April 9, 2018, surpassed 800 million views on YouTube as of 4:30 a.m. on July 27.
With this milestone, TWICE has become the first group to achieve the feat of having a music video surpass 800 million views, setting a new record for the group.
“What is Love?” was written and composed by Park Jin-young, chief producer of JYP Entertainment, and features lyrics that express the curiosity of girls who learn about love through books, movies, dramas, etc. in harmony with a bright and light-hearted melody.
The music video, in which the members transform into characters from famous movies and exude their unique, adorable energy, has received immense love from fans both at home and abroad.
TWICE has many highly viewed music videos, including “What is Love?”, which has surpassed 800 million views, “TT,” “LIKEY,” and “FANCY,” which have each surpassed 600 million views, and “CHEER UP,” “I CAN’T STOP ME,” “Feel Special,” and “OOH-AHH,” which have each surpassed 500 million views. A total of 24 music videos, including the Japanese and English singles “The Feels” and “MOONLIGHT SUNRISE,” have been viewed over 100 million times, maintaining the highest record among girl groups worldwide.
On the 27th and 28th, TWICE performed at Nissan Stadium in Kanagawa, Japan, becoming the first K-pop girl group and the first foreign female artist to do so, bringing their fifth world tour, “TWICE 5TH WORLD TOUR ‘READY TO BE’,” to a grand conclusion.
This world tour, which started in Seoul in April 2023, made an impressive run through various regions including Japan, North America, Australia, Europe, Southeast Asia, and South America.
TWICE has reaffirmed their status and popularity as the world’s leading girl group by selling out some of the biggest stadiums in the world, including SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles and MetLife Stadium in New York.
