Marseille interested in Liverpool midfielder Wataru Endo
Olympique de Marseille is interested in signing Liverpool midfielder Wataru Endo (31) and has submitted a bid of 14 million euros, The Athletic reported this Sunday. The Premier League giants reportedly rejected Les Forsene’s bid for the Japanese international. Endo moved to Liverpool from VfB Stuttgart last season for a transfer fee of 20 million euros. He signed with Arne Slott’s Reds and his contract expires in 2027. The outlet added that Liverpool are not willing to let Endo go and that Bundesliga clubs are also interested in Endo.
Meanwhile, Fabrizio Romano reported that talks between Marseille and Endo had fallen through, but Roberto de Zerbi’s side announced the signing of Watford midfielder Ismael Koné (22) and Tottenham midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg (28). Marseille are undergoing a major squad overhaul under the guidance of the Italian coach. Marseille are also looking to sign Arsenal centre-forward Eddie Nketiah (25), Freiburg right-back Kilian Sirdilia (22) and Malmö centre-back Derek Cornelius (26).
