Javed Akhtar took to X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday to inform his fans that his X account had been “hacked.” The veteran scriptwriter and lyricist said that the “innocent” tweets from his account about the Indian team for the 2024 Olympics were not his. “My X ID has been hacked. There are messages supposedly sent from my account about the Indian Olympic team. Completely harmless but not sent by me. I am leasing a complaint to the appropriate authorities at X,” he wrote on Twitter.

“Change your password immediately,” tweeted an X user in response to Javed’s tweet. One fan also tweeted, “The issue will be resolved soon.” Another fan commented, “What was that innocuous message all about?”
The tweet “about the Indian Olympic team” to which Javed referred in his recent tweet is not currently appearing on his timeline. Another tweeted: “I have not seen any tweet from you… Hope the issue gets resolved soon.”
