PARIS, July 29 (Bernama-UAE) — The United Arab Emirates’ (UAE) Minister of Sports, Dr Ahmed Belhoul Al Falasi, has asserted that the UAE’s participation in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games is a major step towards achieving the goals of the National Sports Strategy 2031.
The strategy aims to have more than 30 athletes compete at the Olympic Games by focusing on talent development and creating success stories for the UAE.
According to Emirates News Agency (WAM), he stressed the importance of providing the necessary support to elite athletes, sports federations and school sports, highlighting the fundamental role these elements play in developing future champions.
“The athletes representing the UAE at the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics are exemplary ambassadors for our country, competing prestigiously at the highest level alongside their peers from around the world.
“They present a complimentary image of Emirati youth, embodying the Olympic spirit of peace and coexistence,” the minister said.
Al Falasi noted that the UAE delegation has the ambition and passion to realise its Olympic dream by winning a third Olympic gold medal for the UAE.
He added that all the UAE’s Olympic athletes are committed to outstanding performance and achieving the best results, which reflects the growth of the country’s sports sector and strengthens its presence in the global sporting community.
