The Milwaukee Brewers will have a few days to decide on their possible World Series run with the MLB trade deadline. Pat Murphy has done a great job in making this team competitive despite countless troubles with payments. The team sits comfortably at the top of the National League Central division but still needs to bolster its pitching staff. This is where Pedro Grifol and the Chicago White Sox come into play. Garrett Crochette has attracted a lot of interest from various teams, but the Brewers are adamant on acquiring Erick Fedde.

That’s right! The Brewers are reportedly very interested in acquiring Erick Fedde at the MLB trade deadline, according to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic. The White Sox are expected to make a big sale during this period as they look to reboot their roster. In fact, the White Sox are reportedly willing to move Michael Kopech along with Erick Fedde more than anyone else on the team. They are also more likely to move these two than any other players at the MLB trade deadline.
However, the Brewers have some competition when it comes to signing Fedde, as the Chicago Cubs have also expressed strong interest in signing him despite the rivalry between the teams.
A big reason the Brewers don’t want to sign Garrett Crochette to the NBA is his desire after the trade. The White Sox pitcher wants an extension right away, which would be very expensive. Plus, it’s unclear if Crochette will be able to pitch and contribute by October. Those are two big considerations for Pat Murphy’s Brewers team, which wants to make a run at the World Series.

Who will the Brewers acquire at the MLB trade deadline?
Fedde is one of the most consistent pitchers on the team. He hasn’t had a bad season. As of this writing, the White Sox have a 7-4 record with Fedde. In those games, he has a 3.111 ERA, 108 strikeouts, and a 1.14 WHIP. All of this happened in the space of 21 games, and the White Sox pitchers weren’t too happy about it.
The Brewers need to get moving before they lose a solid weapon at the MLB trade deadline. They don’t have much time to properly move a pitcher from Grifol’s White Sox. If Murphy is truly committed to the top of baseball, he should have requested a trade by now. Will they be instant, overwhelming contenders in the fall of 2024?
