Thiruvananthapuram:
The Kerala State Commission for Protection of Child Rights on Sunday filed a complaint against a YouTube channel for violating the privacy of the son of a truck driver from Kozhikode, who went missing in the recent landslides in Karnataka.
The case was filed against the channel ‘Mazhavil Kerala’ after a video of the YouTube channel host questioning Arjun’s son went viral.
Sources said the committee took the step after considering the agency’s actions of forcing the child to talk about his father instead of comforting the family.
The committee also sought reports from district police chiefs, YouTube channels and others on the issue.
Arjun was driving a truck loaded with timber towards Kozhikode when the landslide occurred on July 16. He has been missing for 12 days.
Multiple agencies are conducting a search operation to locate him at the site of the landslide.
