The National Artificial Intelligence Programme, in partnership with the National Programmers Programme, will host the sixth edition of the UAE Artificial Intelligence Camp on July 29. The camp will run for five weeks and aims to invest in the potential of young people by equipping them with future skills and equipping them with the latest AI solutions and tools, enabling them to develop innovative solutions to challenges, drive innovation in advanced technology areas and support the development of critical sectors.
The UAE AI Camp is targeted at children, school and university students, AI and coding professionals, and various community groups, and covers seven key areas: the future of artificial intelligence, data science and machine learning, AI in education, healthcare and finance, web development and robotics, AI ethics and governance, cybersecurity, and virtual and augmented reality. The workshops will be delivered in partnership with government and private organizations, as well as leading technology companies. Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications, said the UAE AI Camp embodies the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to design the future based on the capabilities of future generations to lead in the field of artificial intelligence.
Al Olama further said that the annual camp and wide participation in its activities reflect the growing community awareness and adoption of future technologies.
He added that the camp is part of a series of government initiatives aimed at contributing to strengthening a sustainable digital economy and establishing the country’s leadership and international competitiveness in the field of future. This will be achieved by expanding cooperation between government agencies, private sector organizations and leading global technology companies in the field of artificial intelligence, ensuring that camp participants are educated and aware of the latest developments and changes in this rapidly evolving field.
The camp, now in its sixth edition, will feature interactive workshops with groups from government agencies and private organizations until the end of August. Camp activities cover topics that will make participants more competitive in hackathons and generative artificial intelligence competitions in the Arab region. Also discussed will be the importance of cybersecurity, how to identify its challenges, understand its standards and best practices, and how to improve technological knowledge and best use it by implementing AI responsibly in schools and universities.
The UAE AI Camp will also feature innovative activities that teach robotics in an interactive and fun way. Participants will learn how to apply robots in everyday life, tackle various challenges, and understand the fundamentals of computer vision as it relates to robotics. This will include the importance and real-life applications of computer vision, basic concepts around image processing, and designing robots that can interact with humans.
The UAE AI Camp has attracted a wide range of participants over its five editions, with over 30,000 participants from various degrees and educational backgrounds attending training workshops aimed at developing participants’ skills in the latest technological techniques.
