EUCLID, Ohio — Season 5 of GoDaddy’s “Made in America” tells the story of Darren and Theresa Carter of Carter’s BBQ. The Carters appear in Episode 2, “Former Steelworker Sparks BBQ Business,” and Episode 4, “Ohio Entrepreneur’s Hard Work Pays Off.”
The docuseries follows entrepreneurs like the Carters as they start and grow their businesses. The current season, which focuses on small businesses in Ohio, just premiered on YouTube. Each episode is about 15 minutes long.
During the show, the Carters talk about their journey to becoming business owners and why they love feeding people.
Last year, their Euclid-based food truck, which travels around Northeast Ohio, earned the title of Kingsford “Save the Pit” Fellow.
The Carters easily impressed the producers of Made in America and landed a role in the series.
“From the moment we met the Carters, they were incredibly charming, interesting, passionate and very honest people. They were willing to be vulnerable, share their stories and invite others to witness their triumphs and struggles,” said Sophie Harris, senior video producer and creative director for GoDaddy’s “Made in America.”
According to a press release, GoDaddy hopes to inspire entrepreneurs through the series and encourage audiences around the world to support businesses in their local communities: “Inspired by the region’s vibrant diversity, from industrial Cleveland to rural Appalachia, Season 5 celebrates the resilience, grit, talent and determination of Ohio’s small business owners.”
